Since 2016, we continue to hold archaeology permits at HVC. Under these permits, AEW is working on several Areas of Interest and archaeological sites.
We have been completing baseline wildlife field surveys as part of the proposed HVC 2040 mine life extension to document the existing conditions for terrestrial wildlife and wildlife habitat conditions. Surveys include breeding bird point counts, larval amphibian surveys, reptile and large mammal transects, call playback surveys, and deployment of wildlife cameras.
